Project overview

James Cubitt Architects (JCA) were engaged by the University of New England (UNE) to undertake the design and documentation of the proposed refurbishment to the Universities Financial Services Department. The project required extensive consultation to develop a series of options that would address key client concerns including the public / private interface. This was a significant element of the project due to the often ‘personal’ situations arising out of student discussions and financial payments. During the design process there were significant changes within the PUG structure. Through the development of a design that was fluid in its concept the planning flexibility was able to accommodate major design changes without impacting on the core principals. The selection of materials, colour and lighting provided the finish necessary to achieve a distinct corporate aesthetic.
