Project overview

In 2020, JCA were commissioned to design and document the full interior refurbishment of an existing 3 storey residence with extensive City views in the suburb of Windsor, Brisbane. The existing living space was challenged with a load bearing structure in the centre of a vast space with little purpose and poor circulation. The design team responded with the insertion of a 3- sided fireplace to create a focal point that would provide definition and intimacy to the family room. The central load bearing structure was wrapped in vertical timber cladding to creating a focal island with a luxury copper sinked bar and stone pass through. Natural stone and timber was extensively utilised to complement the existing materials and surrounding scenery and casual furniture selected to imbue a feeling of comfortable luxury.
